Located in northern Spain, La Rioja is one of the most prestigious of all the Spanish wine regions. It is divided into three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Baja with the most famous bodegas located in Alta and Alavesa.
Rioja appeals, not just for producing some of the finest wines in Spain, but also for the contrast between traditional and modern wineries that can be found here. Visit a historic bodega built on a farm, part of a medieval monastery that still produces its wine using the most traditional methods, then continue on to another that employs state-of-the-art wine technology in a building that is a work of modern art in itself.

Ribera Del Duero
Ribera del Duero is one of Spain’s world-renowned wine regions and is situated along the banks of the Duero River on the country’s northern plateau. Wine has been produced in the region for thousands of years, but, viticulture as we know it today, was brought to the region by French Benedictine monks from Cluny, in Burgundy, during the XII century.
Tempranillo wine is a standout in Ribera del Duero's traditional winemaking. Tempranillo has a unique dual character that sets it apart from other wine varieties. It can be enjoyed as a vibrant, young red with fruity and floral notes, or as an aged red with profound complexity and elegant finesse. Visiting family-owned and operated estates ensures an immersive experience as the owners are often on-site to welcome you and show you the winery or accompany you during the wine tasting.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour in Bordeaux. This tour was in August so we know it was a challenge. But their delivery was World Class.The service people lined up by Into the Vineyard were engaging, thoughtful and respectful. The two hotels, although small both in number of rooms and room size, were quaint. Their breakfasts and afternoon beverage arrangements were a nice touch. The specific wine tours had much more of an educational tone to them as compared with other wine tours we experienced previously. A unique aspect of the week was a side boat trip in Archachon. It was an interesting break from the wine tours and the boat captain was incredibly humorous. Recommend this tour and this tour company highly!
