Provence

The Provence region is a stunning destination known for its lavender fields, charming villages, and sunny beaches. No other region of France stirs the imagination as strongly as the stunning expanse of Provence. Just saying the word conjures images of endless sunflower fields, the scent of lavender wafting through the breeze, beautiful clear skies, charming medieval villages, regional food, the azure of the Mediterranean and wonderful people.

It is easy to understand why so many famous artists, including Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh, and Picasso, found inspiration here.

Highlights

Experience the lavender fields: These fields, extending as far as the eye can see, are the epitome of Provence's charm and allure, and offer a surreal and calming experience.

Wander through ancient places: Explore the striking Roman amphitheater in Orange, the Palace of the Popes in Avignon (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) or towns like Gordes, Gigondas, Les Baux de Provence, Saint Remy, and Arles.

Immerse yourself in the local markets: Aix-en-Provence Market, a lively outdoor marketplace, is a feast for the eyes, boasting vibrant displays of colorful produce, artisan cheeses, and charcuterie that will tantalize your taste buds.

Farm to Table at La Mirande

Features

La Mirande is as romantic as can be, in particular, because of its unique location overlooking the eastern facade of the Palais des Papes, visible from almost anywhere in the hotel. Each of the rooms is dressed in its own period printed canvas. A constant exoticism marks the heritage of the walls which have become historical monuments. A heritage that takes you back in time to the 18th century, that of all the enchantments of Avignon and Provence.

In the old Pamard family kitchen, on a venerable wood-burning stove, surrounded by the instruments of great traditional cooking - copper pans, beautiful earthenware, old-fashioned kitchen scales, and an enormous wooden table – Chef Séverine Sagnet is cooking in accordance with her credo “from farm to table.” This is the heart of La Mirande. The chefs work right before your eyes when they prepare a set menu featuring fresh, local produce in keeping with the season and the market's offerings, accompanied by a selection of regional wines.
