Maipo Valley
One of Chile’s largest and most historically significant wine regions, the Maipo Valley has the nation’s capital, the city of Santiago, at its heart. The valley includes more than 30,000 acres of vineyards, more than half of which are dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon.
For the past 150 years, vines have grown to the north of the city, while thousands of acres of vines also thrive in the fertile passageway that extends southwest of Santiago. Stay at Hotel Casa Real
Features
The Hotel Casa Real is located on the Santa Rita Estate, and was formerly the summerhouse of the winery’s founder. Following restoration, it was converted into a hotel in the mid-1990s and is located in a 40-hectare park designed by leading French landscape gardener Guillaume Renner. The parks late 19th century classical style has been preserved, making it a historic monument and the only park of its kind in the country. Hotel Casa Real offers 16 beautiful rooms, fine dining, salons, and outstanding service, in a setting of absolute privacy and exclusivity. Alongside the hotel stands a Neo-Gothic chapel built in 1880 - like the mansion, it was designed by German architect Theodor Burchard.

In most cases we plan our own trip but in our Argentina and Chile wine trip the logistics were overwhelming. Where to go, travel time, reservations, guides and transport are almost impossible to figure out. Into the Vineyards put our trip together perfectly. They took what we knew and wanted and connected us to all the right spots. From the top vineyards and wineries to off the beaten path little jewels. We were set up with private tastings and gourmet lunches and dinners everywhere we went. The local contacts were knowledgeable and fun to be with. In the end we saved money as well with all of their resources. I will for sure use them again on my next trip to Burgundy.

We wanted to share what a great experience we had on our trip to Argentina and Chile thanks to the great trip plan and coordination done by Into the Vineyard. Their network in Argentina and Chile is very good and the message of the type of tour my husband and I wanted to experience was well received. We experienced more than we could have dreamed up! Our guide in Mendoza read our tour profile and took the tour himself even though it had been assigned to his partner. Eduardo Soler is a wine maker himself and recently obtained his Sommelier certificate! Eduardo knew just the boutique wineries and vineyards to show us so that we obtained a great education on various techniques of wine making that my husband will be able to apply!

We have used Into the Vineyard twice now. The first time was for Colchagua and Maipo in Chile and the second for Bordeaux. Both times were excellent. Their service was very thorough and well-tuned to the type of experience we were looking for. The people they use in the countries are very welcoming and well-informed. Thank you Into the Vineyard for planning and executing our amazing trip to Spain & Portugal last month. Our custom wine tour Chile was twelve full days of food, wine and culture. We loved it all. This was our second trip with Into the Vineyards ( first in 2019 into Chilean wine country) and we did not hesitate to use them again, especially during Covid times. Every winery ( we visited 19!!!!) , guide, restaurant & hotel was selected with great care. We moved to 8 different hotels through this trip, which was honestly easy when every transfer went smooth and our driver was waiting for us every time as scheduled.

I am so impressed with the team at Into the Vineyard! Due to some Covid travel restrictions, our trip was interrupted as soon as we arrived in Chile. We were able to get the team on the phone, pivot, and reroute for a wine tour in Argentina in just a few hours. Several days later, we received approval to return to Chile, and the team rearranged all our travel on the spot. What could’ve been a terrible situation turned into the best adventure!
