Day 1

ARRIVAL IN BORDEAUX

Bienvenue! Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to the Relais & Châteaux Cordeillan Bages situated in the heart of the famous appellation of Pauillac, just 50km (30 miles) north of Bordeaux. The Village of Bages, sometimes referred to as “the village of wine and gourmet delights”, has been completely renovated in recent years while still respecting the ancient style. It features a café-restaurant, a bakery and boutique, as well as a number of arts and craft studios set around the central square. Once settled at the hotel, we’ll gather for dinner at the Restaurant Café Lavinal, situated just behind the hotel. (D) • Cordeillan Bages

Venice streets

Venezia is a city of small islands, enhanced during the Middle Ages by the dredging of soils to raise the marshy ground above the tides. The resulting canals encouraged the flourishing of a nautical culture which proved central to the economy of the city. Today those canals still provide the means for transport of goods and people within the city.
